The OUTAIM Program harnesses the collective experience, expertise, and leadership of our credentialed OUT Foundation Leadership Team and OUTAmbassadors.

This diverse and experienced team consists of current & former athletes, DEID health & wellness consultants, LGBTQ+ health & wellness professionals, and organizational operators.

  • Our journey starts with a survey that assesses your gym or fitness environment on an inclusion scale.

    This scale ranks the overall inclusivity of LGBTQ+ staff, members, participants, and volunteers.

  • Ensuring visibility is critical.

    Your journey comes fully equipped with OUTAIM assets and marketing tools to support your administrative efforts & showcase your commitment to inclusivity.

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Training

    EDIT incorporates inclusive coaching skills to uplift, embolden, and affirm LGBTQ+ individuals. We curate each workshop to specifically meet your gym or fitness environment where its at.

  • This journey is a marathon that we are on together, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

    OUTAIM provides quarterly check ins, on-the-spot guidance, and shares valuable key tools throughout the year that are developed by an experienced and credentialed OUTAmbassador Board.

  • At the end of each year, we audit gyms in discussions, review of gym space, and member & surveys to ensure each gym is are maintaining their OUTAIM level of accreditation.

  • STRENGTHENING GYMS & COACHES uphold the rights of LGBTQ+ staff and members.

    These locations collaborate with their local LGBTQ+ communities to build inclusive relationships. Substantial steps have been taken to become a fully Empowering gym + coach.

  • EMPOWERING GYMS & COACHES are vocal leaders for LGBTQ staff and members, working intentionally toward change, ultimately leading to the sustainability of the LGBTQ+ community in health, fitness, and wellness spaces.

OUR CURRICULUM

Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity Training

  • The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Training (EDIT) program is designed specifically for anyone that seeks to create a welcoming and nurturing fitness environment for the LGBTQ+ community. EDIT leans into incorporating inclusive skills to uplift, embolden, and affirm their LGBTQ+ clients and members physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing.

  • 1.5 - 2 hr Training

    During this interactive course, we will unravel the multifaceted aspects of diversity and challenges that individuals face within all marginalized communities.

    Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of intersectionality and its significance in shaping experiences within social, cultural, and professional settings from data-driven facts.

  • 1.5 hr Training

    During this training, participants will explore the concepts of unconscious bias, its impact on decision-making processes, and how it can unintentionally perpetuate disparities and inequalities within health, fitness, and wellness spaces.

    Through a combination of exercises, discussions, and impact stories, participants will develop a deeper understanding of their own biases and learn practical strategies to mitigate their influence.

  • Participants will learn the history of pronouns and their importance along with practical tools to use in the helth and wellness setting to be inclusive and an ally in respectful pronoun usage.

  • A training dedicated to better understanding how HIV/AIDS affects the LGBTQ+ Community and practical tools for trainers and health and wellness providers can use to tailor their work with individuals diagnosed with HIV.

  • Participants will come away from this training with a deeper knowledge of:

    Understanding Gender Diverse Language

    Facts & Statistics about the Community

    Disparities in Health Outcomes

    Participation & Considerations in Fitness

  • A training which will give participants a strong overview of the sensitive issues an conversations surrounding the LGBTQ+ community and how to be aware of key differences.

  • Participants will come away with a foundational knowledge of:
    Understanding the Community & Challenges, Strategies for Creating Inclusive Policies & Procedures, Addressing Common Challenges & Concerns for Fitness Spaces and Building Your Safe Space from the Ground Up

  • A detailed look at the vibrant vocabulary and terminology in the LGBTQ+ community and information on how education around the phrases and words that make us diverse can help you to be a better ally

  • The LGBTQ+ Community possesses trillions of dollars in purchasing power. This training will help you to build a marketing plan that appeals to and properly messages that you are welcoming of the LGBTQ+ community.

  • As a gym operator or manager, building a diverse team is critical. This training will give you tools to supporting your LGBTQ+ staff on their professional journey and maintain a diverse and inclusive staff culture.

  • Gender Dysphoria and Body Dysmorphia in the LGBTQ+ Community is a widespread issue. This training will educate participants on these issues and empower them to create a fitness environment that supports those suffering from it.

  • Employee Resource Groups are key to fostering a culture of inclusion in the workplace. This training will offer an introduction to the importance of and offer strategies for sustaining a successful LGBTQ+ ERG.
