The OUT Foundation welcomes new Executive Director: Paul Salvador
The OUT Foundation Welcomes Paul Salvador as New Executive Director
Organization celebrates new chapter in leadership and honors outgoing E.D. Tina Weaver
The OUT Foundation, the national nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers to LGBTQ+ inclusion in fitness, health, and wellness, is thrilled to announce that Paul Salvador (he/him) has joined the organization as its new Executive Director.
Paul succeeds Tina Weaver, who led the organization for the past two years with dedication, compassion, and vision. Under Tina’s leadership, The OUT Foundation expanded access to its OUTHealth and OUTAthlete programs, deepened community partnerships, and strengthened its national presence. The organization expresses deep gratitude for Tina’s outstanding service and commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and wellbeing.
As Paul steps into this pivotal role, he brings with him fifteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising strategy, and stakeholder engagement. His work has spanned the intersections of LGBTQ+ equality, immigrant justice, racial equity, and regenerative agriculture. Most recently, Paul served as Director of Development at the National Young Farmers Coalition. He has also held leadership roles at Athlete Ally, Immigration Equality, and other impactful nonprofit organizations.
A passionate advocate for inclusive spaces, Paul brings a collaborative leadership style and a deep commitment to advancing equity, representation, and access for LGBTQ+ people in health, wellness, and beyond. His lived experience, coupled with a proven track record of driving impact, makes him uniquely suited to guide The OUT Foundation into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
“There’s something radical about moving our bodies with joy, pride, and purpose,” said Paul Salvador, Executive Director, “especially in a world that is continuously trying to force queer and trans people back into the closet. My goal is to create more spaces where we can show up fully as ourselves, connect in community, and reclaim wellness on our own terms. It’s truly an honor to lead The OUT Foundation as we continue creating spaces where LGBTQ+ people can thrive — in gyms, in healthcare, and in our own bodies.”
Paul’s arrival signals an exciting new phase for the organization, as it looks to build upon a legacy of impact while exploring new opportunities to empower LGBTQ+ individuals across the country. “On behalf of the Board, I want to express our deepest thanks to Tina for her strong leadership, vision, and care over the past two years. Her impact is undeniable and her legacy will continue to shape our work for years to come. We’re thrilled to welcome Paul as our new Executive Director as his passion, lived experience, and strategic insight are exactly what The OUT Foundation needs at this pivotal moment. With Paul at the helm, we are energized by the road ahead and more committed than ever to our mission of empowering and creating inclusive, affirming spaces for our LGBTQ+ community to thrive,” said Janine Nicole, Board Chair of The OUT Foundation.
Outside of work, Paul’s all about community, movement, and sunshine. He lives in Sarasota, Florida with his spouse, where they spend their days running along bayside trails, hitting indoor cycling classes, soaking up the sun, and perusing local farmers markets. They share a love for discovering queer-owned cafés, bookstores, and restaurants while traveling to big cities and small towns alike. Paul also serves on the board of the Fabulous Arts Foundation in Sarasota, helping to uplift LGBTQ+ voices through arts and culture across Florida’s Gulf Coast.
