The OUT Foundation welcomes new Deputy Executive Director: Nicole Lovejoy
Announcing Nicole Lovejoy as The OUT Foundation’s New Deputy Executive Director
The OUT Foundation is thrilled to welcome Nicole Lovejoy (she/her) as our new Deputy Executive Director – a heart-forward, mission-driven leader with a fierce dedication to equity, inclusion, and LGBTQ+ empowerment.
Nicole brings more than 15 years of experience in corporate partnerships, business development, and nonprofit leadership, paired with a lifelong passion for building systems that work better for everyone. From her early days organizing with the Human Rights Campaign and Obama for America—where she helped pass pivotal legislation on labor rights, LGBTQ+ protections, and marriage equality in 13 states—Nicole has never stopped fighting for justice.
One of her most formative moments came in 2011, standing in the New York State Senate chamber as the Marriage Equality Act passed into law. That historic night continues to fuel her drive to create lasting, joyful change.
Since then, Nicole has led high-growth teams, scaled startups, and built transformative partnerships with Fortune 500 companies to deepen impact and expand opportunity. She has also served as a volunteer leader and ambassador for LGBTQ+ nonprofits, facilitated LGBTQ+ 101 workshops, moderated national webinars, and helped launch LGBTQ+ employee resource groups. A lifelong learner, Nicole has trained with several political and social justice organizations to sharpen her tools for advocacy and systemic change.
Most recently, as Board Chair of Rainbow Labs, she champions mentorship, leadership development, and safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in Los Angeles. She’s a builder of inclusive systems, a tireless advocate for access, and a firm believer that joy is part of the revolution, too.
“Nicole is the kind of leader who makes you believe in what’s possible,” said Paul Salvador, Executive Director of The OUT Foundation. “She turns values into action and brings people together to build a kinder and more inclusive world. As we face growing challenges to LGBTQ+ rights and representation, Nicole’s vision and heart are exactly what this moment calls for, and I’m thrilled to welcome her to the OUT team.”
As Deputy Executive Director, Nicole will play a vital role in strengthening our infrastructure, advancing our strategic vision, and expanding our impact across the LGBTQ+ fitness, health, and wellness space. Her leadership will help ensure that The OUT Foundation remains a powerful force for equity, visibility, and belonging — for everybody, in every body.
Nicole lives in the Catskill Mountains of New York’s Hudson Valley with her spouse Pink (they/him), dog Lucy, and cat Izzy—where RuPaul’s Drag Race and kitchen dance parties are weekly rituals. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on board!
