An Open Letter to Russell Berger

Russell,

Our paths first crossed in June of 2018 when you spoke out online against a pride workout at CrossFit Infiltrate.

Since then, our work in the queer fitness community has grown tremendously, bringing our inclusive OUTWOD workouts to over 100 CrossFit Affiliates nationwide in 2019 alone.

Our lives have been saved in CrossFit gyms around the world, and we believe CrossFit is for any body; queer, straight, religious, atheist, young, old, and adaptive. It’s for all of us. Because when we come together, we can change the world.

So when we heard the news about your wife, Katherine, we knew we needed to respond with compassion.

We believe in wellness for everyone, and that’s why we’re launching a special “Katherine Berger Campaign” for the month of February to raise funds for your wife’s medical care, and The OUT Foundation will match up to $1,500 raised by our community for this campaign.

While we may not speak for all of our community, we believe love conquers hate and hope the kindness of our community helps your family in its time of need.
