HISTORY

The OUT Foundation launched the inaugural version of our inclusive leaderboard in 2018, the first and only CrossFit Games Open leaderboard for the LGBTQIA2+ community. In 2023, we continue to celebrate those who are OUT in the OPEN for the 2023 CrossFit Games season.

We'll aggregate scores from the Open onto this website and leaderboard and provide an avenue for our athletes to directly compete.

Most importantly, OUT in the OPEN is all for charity, benefiting The OUT Foundation’s programs as we continue to advocate for access and inclusion in fitness, access to health and wellness for our community, and more.

BE OUT IN THE OPEN!

We promote friendly competition between LGBTQIA+ athletes and allies, to allow all gender identities to participate in a sport we love and to raise funds for The OUT Foundation and its programs.

WHAT IS OUT IN THE OPEN?

OUT in the OPEN is a 100% gender-inclusive leaderboard for the LGBTQIA2+ community and allies and corresponds with the 2023 CrossFit Games Open.

The main leaderboards eliminate the binary gender categories, allowing the community-at-large to compete and compare scores.

The OUT Foundation acknowledges that many transgender athletes in our community fight for their gender to be recognized and to be included in the gender category in which they identify. Therefore, we include leaderboards titled "CrossFit Men's" and "CrossFit Women's" in each skill level.

WORKOUT LEADERBOARD

As part of our dedication to creating the most inclusive leaderboard experience, you will notice that for our weekly winners, we use the "ALL RX", "ALL Scaled" and "ALL Adaptive" standards.
Additionally, while we know the CrossFit Games system forces you to choose a gender (something we are working diligently with HQ to sort out) - you will notice that our verbiage uses "CrossFit Men's Standards" and "CrossFit Women's Standards" so you may choose the movement standards you wish to compete under, even if you do not identify on the binary.
While we know this isn't the perfect solution - it is a step in the direction of which we will forge our path to full inclusion.
